A rick forest green tassel hangs at the end of a beaded mid-length necklace. A pendant that pairs perfectly with anything from a loose tee to a cocktail dress.
Artillery pieces will naturally oxidize over time. For greatest longevity, wipe down pieces with a dry, soft cloth after wearing. To restore shine, dip metal pieces in a lemon juice and water bath or clean with mild soap and water. Thoroughly dry with a soft cloth.
In Ethiopia, we partner with Artisan Businesses seeking to bring hope and dignified work to women who have been made vulnerable by their circumstances. Many of the women who craft our pieces are beginning new lives after working on the streets of Addis Ababa. Through fair and meaningful work, these women are pulling themselves out of poverty—and rediscovering their value and worth.
As they move through fields of coffee, wheat, and sorghum, Ethiopian farmers scan the ground for a very different harvest—artillery shells from former conflicts. Local craftsmen melt the shells down to create beautiful beads, then transport the beads to women in Addis Ababa who string them into beautiful accessories.
